RE: Crafts
Apr 5 2008, 10:48 AM EDT Easy Kangaroo Costumes I used to do this with my daughter when we lived in Australia in 1984-85: For every two children, you will need 3 pairs of old pantyhose. From one pair, cut off the legs and stuff each leg with crumpled newspaper, tissue paper, or fiberfill pillow stuffing (be sure there is not a lot of weight to these!) Fasten a "tail" to the back of each pair of remaining pantyhose- use safety pins, staples, or stitch with yarn or thread. Children put on their "costumes"- the waist bands are stretchy enough to be the "pouch" for carrying a "joey." 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 3 2008, 5:19 PM EDT "It's okay to be different"I wanted to do a story time around the platypus and searched for an easy craft. I did find a paper bag craft and wasn't too thrilled. I made one at home and fell in love with it. It went well with "A Platypus, Probably" by Collard and "Kersplatypus" by Mitchell. Directions are on: http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/zoowildanimals/l/blplatipus.htm It was easy for my 4-6 year olds, but appealing to even a little older. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 11 2008, 11:31 AM EDT I included this craft on one of my craft days for grades 1 to 6. I thought it was a little lame, but the sample came out cute and the kids loved it. It was one of the most popular choices of the day. Do you find this valuable? |
