Easy Kangaroo Costumes I used to do this with my daughter when we lived in Australia in 1984-85: For every two children, you will need 3 pairs of old pantyhose. From one pair, cut off the legs and stuff each leg with crumpled newspaper, tissue paper, or fiberfill pillow stuffing (be sure there is not a lot of weight to these!) Fasten a "tail" to the back of each pair of remaining pantyhose- use safety pins, staples, or stitch with yarn or thread. Children put on their "costumes"- the waist bands are stretchy enough to be the "pouch" for carrying a "joey."

One cool and creepy thing in Australia are these really giant termite's nests that look sort of like the dribble sand castles kids make at the beach (only on a huge scale)! I have a pillar in the middle of my children's room that I'm going to build a termite's nest against. I'll use carpet tubes of various lengths as the armature, and then cover them loosely with brown craft paper. (I love hot glue!) I'm going to leave an opening for kids to reach into...Eeuww! They are going to love it!

I have not added any of Stephanie's artwork because this is a public wiki right now so you can all view it. As soon as we go "live" I will have her artwork added and it will be accessible to NH Librarians who wish to use it.

The artwork has now been added, except for the t-shirt design, which will be posted in mid-February.

We will be adding titles as they are found, but here are a few to get started. The list will also be added as a separate page in the wiki so you can view titles at a glance.
1. Children from Australia to Zimbabwe: A Photographic Journey Around the World by Maya Ajmera, Anna Rhesa Versola, Global Fund For Children (Organization), and Marian Wright Edelman 2. The Mystery on the Great Barrier Reef: Sydney, Australia (Around the World in 80 Mysteries) by Carole Marsh
3. You Wouldn't Want to Be an 18th-Century British Convict!: A Trip to Australia You'd Rather Not Take (You Wouldn't Want to...) by Meredith Costain, David Salariya, and David Antram
